George Tamiolakis is an experienced Procurement professional, who held several positions of responsibility in the fields of Procurement and Logistics, managing both direct- and indirect spend, and leading procurement departments in Greece and abroad. Through his career, George has held various local and above-country roles in multinational organizations, as well as leading roles in Greek companies, in diverse sectors such as electronics manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals and Information Management.

Right now George is capitalizing on his accumulated experience, working as a Procurement Consultant, coach and professional trainer. He is also researching how combined AI applications and particularly Large Language Models (LLMs) can be utilized as a Virtual Procurement Assistant, hence augmenting the daily work of procurement professionals.

He holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the NTUA and an MSc in Operations Management from the University of Manchester, and has been a member of Hellenic Purchasing Institute (HPI) for more than a decade.
